Capo Coda Cavallo is a characteristic strip of land with a narrow, elongated shape that juts out from the coast toward the Tyrrhenian Sea, overlooking the marvelous waters protected by the Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo MPA.
This natural paradise, rich in biodiversity, with sandy beaches alternating with rocky coves and unique views, is located north of the town of San Teodoro.
On the main road that crosses Capo Coda Cavallo the wide green spaces of the countryside and the wild coastal panoramas follow one another along the various access roads to the beaches of this area: Cala Brandinchi, Salina Bamba, Baia Salinedda, Cala Suaraccia until you reach the beach of the same name of Capo Coda Cavallo, which coincides with the final part of this small peninsula (Punta di Lu Furru is the extreme point that closes the bay of Capo Coda Cavallo).
On the promontory rising behind Capo Coda Cavallo beach, near the Punta Est village, there is a lookout point offering one of the most evocative views of the Marine Protected Area. A unique panorama unfolds before your eyes, featuring the silhouettes of the three main islands of the MPA archipelago: in the foreground, the low profile of Proratora islet (Lu Furru Island), immediately beyond, verdant Molara (Salciài) and its emerald-green "pools," while in the background, the imposing limestone profile of Tavolara (Taulàra) stands out.
The same panorama is visible from the small square in the Punta Est village, an ideal stopping point for a souvenir photo or a post-beach aperitif.
The entire Capo Coda Cavallo area is well served by numerous tourist services, including several villages and residences, campsites and hotels, bars and restaurants, as well as diving centers and mooring points (such as Porto Coda Cavallo in Salina Bamba) from which you can set out to discover the beauty of the Marine Protected Area.
